As 4th generation opticians, I'd like to give you some insight into the history of my family's beginnings and the history behind SunglassAmerica.com.

From a pushcart, to a store, to a nationwide chain, our family name has become synonymous with the word “optical.”

With charisma, raw intelligence and a passion for business, my great grandfather, Barney, helped jumpstart an industry. It was the late 1920's in the lower east side of Manhattan. Through complete dedication (and locking the doors once the customers came in) he was single handedly able to be a part of the most successful chain of optical stores in the country. For decades, family name has gone hand in hand with great selections and low prices. It's now 2008, and my family business is stronger than ever.

Without fail, we are one of the leading online vendors for sunglasses. SunglassAmerica.com and our optical shops have been providing our great country with eye care for over 70 years.
